Care For Your Hair!

My J.O.B is part of who I am. I absolutely love the satisfaction of making someone feel wonderful, it's an addiction. So, since it is such a huge part of my life, why not blog about it right?! I'll start by saying that I work at Thyme Day Spa and Salon. We are an Aveda salon (the only one in town) and we LOVE our products. I have a serious problem with sending you home with something I don't love and use myself. Needless to say, my drawers and cabinets in my bathroom at home are completely full of our products! Personally, I love to switch up my daily routine all the time. This way my hair doesn't get used to one product. Kinda like they say to switch between Tylenol and Advil ;) Today I want you to know why we love our products. If you like the post let me know and I'll send more hair tips and advice your way!

5 Reasons We LOVE Aveda:
1. Hair color and products are 93-99% natural
2. We have a "GREEN policy"
3. We do not test on animals
4. We have a styling line for every type of hair
5. We package our items eco friendly

5 Reasons We LOVE Alterna Caviar:
1. Our anti-aging line!
2. Infused with Caviar extracts, Omega 3s, Vitamin C, and Cytokines
3. All products are color safe
4. Free of parabens, gluten, phthlates, mineral oil, paraffin, DEA, TEA, petroleum & PABA, and sodium chloride
5. We have a blonde, brunette, and red line to help our color beat this Brenham water in our color fading battle!

100 Days!

Today we have been married for 100 wonderful days! It has already gone by so fast I can't believe it. I am spending this neat occasion without my husband :( He is in Arkansas enjoying some beautiful snow while duck hunting. While he is gone, I have found it the perfect time to FINALLY make the office and office and not an empty space. I have been trying to decorate room by room and it isn't an easy task. I have major "hammer anxiety". I get nervous about putting holes in these new walls so it takes me a while to picture something, then start liking it, then finally making a move with the hammer and nail. Needless to say, a lot of our walls are still bare ;) Maybe I'll get some pictures up next time!
We hope you are all staying warm in this super cold weather! And we ask you to help us pray that the next 100 days are just as wonderful as the last!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends and family! We had a wonderful weekend celebrating the many exciting blessings in 2010! We were in Junction at the deer lease and it was just so great to turn off phones, and not set alarms, and hardly get dressed everyday!
While we were there I did a lot of thanking and a lot of thinking. Of course thankful for our year! But thinking about all the changes that the year brought. Marriage completely changes your life. And it may not all be the marriage, it could be the "real world" with "real jobs", and it could be the new home in a new (but old) town. Who knows, but so many things have changed for us! Laundry... who knew two people and two dogs could have so much laundry! Groceries... WOW! That's all I can say about that. Cleaning... whew, sometimes I just want to give up. That was the benefit of having a small apartment! Mostly, Relationships... the relationships we have with our friends have changed so much. The weekends we used to use to visit friends are now full with 7 Christmases, weddings of friends, and simply spending time with each other. The nights I used to spend on the phone for girl time are now full with cooking dinner, doing laundry, and talking about our day together. And the groups we used to go out with have changed to dinner dates and conversation is now about future children and what our husbands contribute to at home haha!
We LOVE this change, we do. But boy is it a challenge to adjust to together.
So to answer one of my best friends questions.. "when did you get old?" Well, we didn't get old, we got married. You will see when it's your turn ;)
Anyway, to start the new year, I would like to thank my wonderful husband for being to perfect person to endure these changes with! And thank you, in advance for this amazing year to come!!

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Blake and I have been so blessed!! We endured 7 Christmas gatherings this year and it was such a blessing to see all of our family and to have that many family members still here on earth. I could God thanks all day for this incredible year.
Blake wrote me the sweetest note with his gift about how this was the most amazing year of his life to be able to marry me. This is a great compliment for me, I have quite the competition for great year with baseball! He has truly filled this year with more love than I even knew one man could have. He has absolutely made my life a fairytale and continues to steal my love everyday.
Thank you Jesus giving us eternal life. We love you and look forward to shaking your hand.
We pray that each of you have your fair tale year in 2011!

Rewind...

Let's rewind!! It is so fun to tell our story, what better way to start a new blog of the married life :)

How we met: No one can seem to get the story straight on who led Blake to me, but we do know for sure that our great friend, Facebook, helped Blake get in contact with me. He was gone playing minor league baseball for the Dodgers and I had just moved to San Antonio to attend UTSA. We started chatting a bit on fb while I was babysitting my cousins and he was on the road. That led to a week or so of texting.. one night he wrote, maybe I'll call ya tomorrow, I wrote, what if I sound like a man (silly I know!), so he called me right then. I answered giggly, hello? and he said, don't sound like a man to me, and he hung up. From that point on we talked everyday all day for a month before he came home. At some point we decided to not see other people (easy for me, I was living in Waxahachie with my grandparents! hehe), this was so crazy because we hadn't had one single date. When he got back to San Antonio (he was still living there during the off season because he attended UTSA) we had our first date and we have literally be attached since.

The first year: I was going to school at UTSA and he was doing, well, nothing really but working out (some would say this was a job). He was home for about six months before he had to go back to spring training. I could safely say that during those six months we spent no more than 10 days apart. We fell in love fast, and we both knew it! He is me!! Except a man of course, and I am him as a women! After about five months we were already talking about getting engaged. He knew though, from past girlfriends, that we had to make it through the next six LONG months of him being away to be completely sure we would make it in the long haul. I flew, wherever he was, to see him every five or six weeks. He couldn't come home even once. During this time, he helped me decide that my time at UTSA was over and I would attend the Aveda Institute, my dream has always been to be a hair stylist and he said... well, what are you waiting on. As if that is all I needed someone to say! It was so very hard, but we never gave in. There was never a question that no matter what happened we would STICK together.

The second year: And so it was, just three days shy of our one year anniversary he proposed to me! Absolutely the most amazing thing that has ever happened (until the wedding happened)! So now I am at Aveda, he is home for off season, and we are going to get married! We starting planning right away and wondering where we would live when I graduated in 10 months. It didn't take us long to decide we would turn a barn into a house in Brenham. About this time, Blake's brain started churning about things he has been dreaming to do. Baseball of course, but it seemed to be fulfilled for him. He dreamed about that game day and night... but it wasn't a game anymore for him, it was politics and he told me, babe it just isn't fun anymore. So that was that, he was on to the next dream, owning his own business. Thus grew Premier Metal Buyers! We started planning the wedding in October 2009, we started building in February 2010, he opened Premier in March 2010, I graduated in June 2010, we moved back to Brenham in June 2010, I began a new job in September 2010, and we were married October 2, 2010. Needless to say, we had an extremely busy and successful year!

Our first year of marriage: Well, we have just been married for 72 days, I think this should be TO BE CONTINUED.....

We are MARRIED!

October 2, 2010 was the day I got to marry my best friend. It was absolutely a dream come true and I could not have imagined it any more perfect! Here are a few pictures for ya!

The food was to die for!

The flowers were stunning, and the were all different!

Mr. and Mrs. Blake Brannon...that's us!

The baseball themed appetizer table...adorable!

Of course I could post pictures all day long, but hey that's what facebook is for :) Anyway, after the wedding we went to Nassau in The Bahamas for a week where we got massaged up and played in the water, we ate local food that was delic and we met some pretty interesting people. Mostly though..we got to catch up on sleep! It was fantastic!! I wish I had that much time with my husband to myself all the time! Since then we have been swamped at work. We feel so blessed to even have work right now. Blake owns Premier Metal Buyers, basically he buys, sells, and recycles metal...and he LOVES it! It definitely keeps him busy. I am a stylist at Thyme Day Spa and Salon. I absolutely love it and I am loving meeting new people everyday in my chair. We have two sweet babies, Zena and Bruiser, who keep us entertained at our wonderful new home! We spend tons of time trying to make this house our home and it is paying off! I will have some pictures of the house later, I suppose I should let it have it's own post ;) for now that's it!
